When talking about typewriters, Triumph is German know-how at its best. Triumph Werke Nürnberg AG started typewriter production during the First World War. He started typing again in 1920 with the pre-war model 2. Typewriters were constantly improved. Production of typewriters ceased during the Second World War with the start of weapons production. In 1953, Triumph was taken over by Grundig, merged with Adlerwerke and renamed Triumph-Adler. In 1979 the company was acquired by Volkswagen and in 1986 by the Italian Olivetti.
